7 Days in Paris...for FREE!

How could you NOT enter this amazing giveaway?!!!

It's been 4 years since my husband and I walked those beautiful streets of Paris.

Since I've quite my job to be a stay at home mom, it's been nearly impossible to accumulate the money for the two of us to return to Paris.

Oh, yeah, forgot to mention that this awesome giveaway is for TWO and it includes 7 nights stay in a chic hotel!!!!

My husband always encourages me to enter giveaways because one year we won an all inclusive trip to Cancun from a local radio station. His jaw dropped to the floor in disbelief when they announced my name, and four months later we were basking on the beaches of Cancun!

Sooooo, visit Oh Happy Day's blog, and enter here for your chance to win.

I think I was number 8,550. Yes, the chances are slim, but at least there is a chance!

This classic summer outfit comprised of two basic colors

bleu marine and crème

has been one of my favorite outfits that I've worn this summer.

GIVEAWAY- Name that Mannequin

Well, it's about time for another giveaway, and this time we're going to have some fun with it!

We have a new addition to our family and she has been here since Thanksgiving. How dare I wait until now to introduce her to you?!
She has no need to be offended, however. She spent the last 30 years of her life in my Granny's attic just waiting for her debut, and it is I who spared her a wasted life tucked away in the darkness. Yes, I am the one who finally removed the Sears tag from her faded bust. Whom is this mysterious female of which I speak?
My vintage faded rouge 1960's mannequin. Nameless, yet no longer neglected, no longer jobless. She has risen out of our unsteady economy and now has a starring role in my Etsy shop. When she's not working, she gets plenty of warm sunshine in the corner of our bedroom near the window. She's living the high life except for the fact that she is still referred to as "it."

Please help me name my mannequin.

What's in it for you?

There are two chances to win.

FIRST CHANCE TO WIN:

I am looking for the most creative, fitting name for my mannequin. {Remember what her boss loves - glamour, romance, and travel} Perhaps there is a short epithet (descriptive phrase) or bio that you would like to include to give your name meaning.

From all of the comments/submissions, I {and Mr. à la parisienne} will select my {our} top three favorite name submissions for the mannequin and will do a poll to allow you to vote for the mannequin's official name!

some possible brooch choices for the winners

If the name you submitted for the mannequin receives the highest number of votes, you will receive two gifts:

****one brooch AND one fine art print of YOUR choice from my Etsy store.

SECOND CHANCE TO WIN:

EVERYONE who submits a name will be entered for the drawing for the second giveaway. The winner of the second giveaway will be selected randomly and she/he will have the choice of any brooch OR fine art print available in my Etsy store.

To participate, simply leave a comment and the name you want to give the mannequin. The deadline to enter is Friday evening (midnight central time), February 26th.
I can't wait to see what your creative minds come up with!

Parisienne Petal Winner....

This giveaway has been an absolute pleasure to host. I want to thank all of you-old and new friends-for your encouraging words and for visting my Etsy shop. Many of you shared with me your favorite brooch and listening to your favorites is so very helpful.

After assigning each of the participants a number (some participants were assigned multiple numbers), I used a random number picker (much quicker than writing, cutting, and placing names in a hat) to randomly select a number. After the number was selected, I looked on my sheet of paper to find the corresponding participant and the winner of one of my hand-made brooches is....

Stephanie at Bonjour Madame!

Stephanie, a long-time blog friend of mine, has been such a loyal friend to me and to many of you as well. The image above came from her lovely blog. Be sure to pay her a visit!

I hope you all have a great Monday!

A la prochaine!

Giveaway!~Parisienne Petals~a la parisienne's new romantic brooches~

For all of my loyal friends out there, I wanted to share with you some exciting news. A couple of weeks ago, I added a new product to my Etsy store~Parisienne Petals~romantic brooches that have a vintage appeal. As a "grand launching" of this product and a thank you, I want to give one of these brooches to one lucky winner. Winner's choice!

A little bit about my hand-made flowers:
*Each brooch is made of luxurious fabrics-silks, velvets, brocades, taffetas
*All petals are hand-cut by me
(These aren't craft store flowers with a pin glued to the back.)
*The design of these brooches are one of a kind- I created the template for the petals and I select the fabrics.
*Edges of petals are treated to prevent fraying.
*I love using authentic vintage pearls, beads, jewelry and ribbons for the centers of my brooches.
~Le Petit Trianon Brooch~

This flower is my Marie Antoinette inspired brooch. I drew these colors from the gorgeous robin's egg walls in the Petit Trianon at Versailles and sumptuous dresses worn by the actresses in the film Marie Antoinette.

Although the color palette of this flower might be considered more fitting for the spring and summer months, I would still wear it in the winter...but that's just me.

~vintage vanilla cream brooch~

I hand-dyed the fabric used in this brooch to make it a creamier shade of white.

~La Sorbonne~

A charcoal raw silk brooch, with the appearance of linen is a great color for fall yet light weight enough for spring.

~velvet decadance~

This brooch is one of my very first creations. It is fashioned with layers of dusty rose and burgundy velvet. It is ruffled and so very rich.

~Satine~ Inspired by Moulin Rouge

~A scarlet silk and crinkled velvet brooch~a rich, classic, striking
